FAQ

What do the four MBTI letters mean?

The letters come from four preference pairs: Extraversion E / Introversion I, Sensing S / Intuition N, Thinking T / Feeling F, and Judging J / Perceiving P. One letter from each pair combines into one of 16 types.

Does E mean outgoing and I mean shy?

Not necessarily. E / I is more about whether you naturally direct attention and energy toward external interaction or internal reflection. Social skill and shyness are separate from this preference.

How do S and N differ, and why does Intuition use N?

S tends to notice observable facts, experience, and present details; N tends to notice patterns, connections, meaning, and future possibilities. Because I already represents Introversion, Intuition uses its second letter, N.

Does T or F show how rational or emotional someone is?

No. T tends to weigh consistent principles, cause and effect, and outcomes; F tends to include values, people, and relationship impact. Both preferences can use logic and experience emotions.

Does J mean disciplined and P mean prone to procrastination?

No. J tends to prefer clarity, structure, and earlier decisions; P tends to prefer openness, flexibility, and continued exploration. It describes an approach to outer life, not ability or character.

Why might my result change when I retake the test?

When two preferences are close, context, life stage, and recent roles can influence your choices. The result is more useful as a view of current preferences than as a permanent label.

How should I answer to get a result closer to the real me?

Think about your everyday reactions and choose what feels most natural and frequent, not your ideal self or the answer that sounds more correct.
